INSTALLING CUTENEWS
First things first. Download cutenews here.
In order for this blogging tool to work, your pages must be in a .php format. Learn how to convert your pages here.
Once you've downloaded it, make sure to unzip/extract it. Then put the shortcut folder on your desktop.
Next, your going to have to get an FTP program. I use SmartFTP. Get it here.
Once you've got your SmartFTP running, sign in. Your domain or subdomain should provide an FTP account for you. If you don't know what it is, try your login e-mail and password to your website. If that still doesn't work, contact your registrar/host.
Then drag your shortcut icon off from your desktop, and drop it in your root directory in SmartFTP. From there everything should start downloading. This normally only takes a few minutes, depending on your connection and computer.
When your sure everything is done downloading, there should be a file called cutenews. And under it, a subfile called data. Right click and select Properties/CHMOD Change the permissions to 777. Do this for the data folder and all of its individual files and folders.
Next, go to YOURSITE.com/cutenews. (ex. mine is sugarsweet-stuff.com/cutenews) And if you did it right, there should be a button that says Proceed Installation. Click it, and from there you make your first cutenews account!
To get cutenews to show on your site:
After you have created some news, simply paste this code on your site where you want the news to appear.
To add news, login to your cutenews account and click the 'Add News' tab.
